This is the same plant that is shown in the previous photo. It was quite full until a couple of caterpillars decided to feast on it. Notice the "empty" branches on the tops of two of the stems :) I decided to take one of my potted Poinsettias and put it in the ground this year. Let's see what happens in December :) Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) is a favorite flower in the United States with its beautiful, red, star-shape. It is called the "Flame Leaf" in Central America or "Flower of the Holy Night" and was brought here over a hundred years ago by Dr. Joel Poinsett, our first ambassador to Mexico.
