I'm not so sure about the "dwarfness" of this plant :) Don't let the "small" size fool you . . . These plants grew to be about 20 inches tall and just full of flowers. (March 2, 2008)

    Devil's Trumpet

Three years ago, I planted a Devil's Trumpet (Datura metel) in a pot, which I no longer have. A few weeks ago, I noticed a plant growing behind my Gardenia. It didn't appear to be a weed, so I let it grow. I began to notice a purple stem and thought hmmmmmmm - could it be?? Then I noticed very large buds and then I knew . . . one of the seeds from the original plant had sprouted. The leaves are HUGE and the flowers are just magnificent!! (March 2, 2008)

Scarlet Sage (Salvia coccinea) (March 2, 2008) It took a few days (longer than usual) for these two plants to get established, especially the one on the left!!
