My Garden
When I first moved into my townhouse in 1988, the backyard, which is rather small, was covered with grass and had a very small tree in the middle of it. I inquired about the tree and found out that it was definitely NOT suitable for a very small backyard. So, my dad (who was an avid gardener and had the greenest thumb of anybody I know) and I began a very long, back-breaking task of pulling up all of the grass and removing the tree. That wasn't bad enough . . . the so-called "dirt" was a mixture of coral and clay. But - little by little and a couple of years later (my folks would only come down during the winter), we managed to plant a little garden. Everything I do in my backyard is in his honor and memory of my dad :) It continues to be a "work in progress."
