The alpacas live at Little's Farm in Newbury, MA. As you can see by the marks on the skin, these beauties had been sheared recently.

Little's Lane Alpacas (Vicugna pacos) - Newbury, MA (June 6, 2007) The rare alpaca is a charming and valuable member of the camel (camelid) family. Alpacas are prized for their luxurious and costly fiber which is harvested by shearing once a year. An alpaca sweater or blanket is a cherished possession, frequently handed down from one generation to the next. The alpaca gestation period is 11 months. The baby is called a cria. Alpacas are a herd animal and are native to the Andes Mountains of South America. They are very gently, clean animals and make wonderful pets.
Little's Lane Alpacas - Newbury, MA (June 6, 2007) As you can see by the marks on the body, the alpacas had been sheared just recently. Now I'll have to wait until next year to get a picture when they're fully "clothed."
